All about friendship

A Friend

A friend who’s nice and gentle,
A friend where I can rely on,
At times of laughter
And even at times of loneliness.

A friend who’s kind and sweet,
A friend who cares like me,
A friend that makes me strong
When doubts and troubles come along.

Sometimes when I’m down and lonely
You cheer me up and make me happy,
Sometimes when there’s no one to care
You’re there to hug me with sweet caress.

A friend of mine, I treasure much,
Those days we’ve spent I’m really touch,
A friend like you I can’t forget,
Nothing can compare to you.

I wrote this poem when I was in fourth year high school, before graduation. This poem is dedicated to my high school friends.

High School

Remembering the years that passed
There you’ve decided to take this path,
It’s high school, your second step
To reach your goal and be the best.

Through hardships that came along,
You found your way and learned to explore,
Within this life you’ve gone so far,
It taught you to face the final hour.

At last you’re on the final step
Of high school life, it’s been so good!
Soon you will say “goodbye”
But we hope the knowledge will stay within.

Remember this in climbing another stair,
You will face another pain,
Still have faith, don’t be afraid,
Just trust God and you’ll find success.

My brother asked me to write a poem about fourth year high school. And this is it, a product of my brother’s request. This was written on March 3, 1994.

Memories

It’s late at night I’m sitting here
All alone but not lonely,
I’m just remembering the past
All the good and bad that passed.

All those times of laughters and tears,
All those times of troubles and fears,
They’re here again, they’re flashing back,
In my mind they’re sealed and locked.

It’s late at night, I’m all alone
But those memories they make me laugh,
Memories that although old
They make me see the beauty of the pass.

Quiet Times

Quiet times means
… realize what are your faults and reflect on them.
… think all your wrong deeds and never do it again.
… ease your anger then face everybody with a smile on your face.
… forget the bad things others done to you but don’t forget them
… a chance to do the things you haven’t done yet.
… sleep if you don’t have anything to do.
… remember your funny experiences (just to make you smile).
… read your book for you to gain knowledge.
… a nice opportunity to pray and feel God’s presence.
And last but not the least quiet times means write a poem just like what I did today.

A remarkable poem! My teacher got angry when our class failed to do our assignment in his subject. There was a tremendous tranquility. Our teacher just stay infront of the class, staring on us quietly. While quietness was covering the place, I took the time to write this poem. After one hour, the quietness broke up by my teacher’s soft voice, asking us “What have you done for the pass one hour?”. I was so afraid that he might call me and demand an answer to his question. I have nothing to answer but “I wrote a poem, Sir”. Good thing, he didn’t do that. That happened on April 13, 1994.
